This gun has the beavertail forearm which is a bit heavier forearm than the field forearm.ĭryfiring - if you cycle the action and dryfire, you can not pull straight back on the forearm and open the action. If you push the release button the action will open completely. With the action closed and the gun held upright, butt resting on a table. Ok, I got my model 12 out - this is my dads old 1950is full choke, 2-3/4" ribbed model 12. If your gun hasn't been bubba'd, you have a very good chance to have a real solid gun with just a little maintenance and tlc. Not being made for roughly 50 years though, bubba has had lots of time to work his magic on them. Like any mechanical device things wear and break and need maintenance. There are many out there in the hands of trap shooters that have hundreds of thousands of rounds through them. I'll drag mine out and see about dryfiring and opening the action. He could take his, stand it up on a table and push the release button and the action would open completely. My dad always told me a good model 12 will open easily. Support hand is 'fixed' if you will as the gun recoils you effectively push forward on the forearm without consciously doing so. I just support it, recoil probably does result in pushing forward on the forearm.

Compared to other manufactures. It's been a while since I shot mine. I don't think Crosman is really making anything interesting. You mean like making another Beretta type pistol, or changing a stock and shroud on the same B19 platform, and calling it something else? Now they are going to run with the AR style airgun, and come out with a new. As I've been a fan of Daisy, since I got my 1st 1894 in the late 1970's. Sort of tells how low my expectations have gotten for Daisy.īut if the reviews say it shoots well, I will probably get one. I will be satisfied, if it shoots as good as the Marksman 1700 pump action BB gun, I got a Princess Auto for $14. Will be interesting to see how it actually shoots, when the reviews come out. Crosman may not be a leader in the field, as it previously was, but is still coming out with new & interesting products. I find it sad how a great name, and leader in the airgun world has sunk so low. I'm just happy that Daisy actually came out with a "new" product.
